Jesus told his disciples to go and tarry (wait) in Jerusalem for the promised Holy Spirit.  Waiting is not something we do very well.  But, sometimes even the Lord wants us to wait.  According to scripture, strength comes from waiting.

Ps 27:14 Wait on the Lord; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the Lord! NKJV

Isa 40:31
31 But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint. NKJV

I think the secret is if we can wait on the Lord and see Him at work, it strengthens our faith and we can trust Him the more!

I don’t know how long you have waited for the promises of God to come to pass in your life, but don’t give up.  If Abraham had waited the 25 years between the promise of a son and the fulfillment of Issac, we would not have the problems in the middle east Today.

Lord, my trust is in you.  I have put it in your hands and I realize that it has to be in your time as well.
