When I think about the events of this week, I can’t help but remember what Jesus says to Peter. Jesus is telling them about what was going to happen (even though they did not understand), how they would be scattered, tested and tried.

Then He turns to Peter and says,
Luke 22:31-34 And the Lord said, “Simon, Simon! Indeed, Satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat.
32 But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail; and when you have returned to Me, strengthen your brethren.” NKJV

He tells him that Satan has asked for permission to sift him like wheat, but in verse 32 He says, “But I have prayed for you…”

Wow.  One writer said that Satan had asked for Peter, but Jesus out asked Satan!

Rom 8:34….It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us. NKJV

Heb 7:25 Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them. NKJV

Just Remember when satan comes as a roaring lion seeking to destroy, The Lion of the Tribe of Judah is roaring!

1 John 4:4 You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. NKJV

Whatever trial you find yourself in at the moment, don’t be discouraged, don’t give up, don’t quit!  Satan has asked for you, but Jesus has out asked him!
