Today is April Fools Day, a day of jokes and deception intended to get a certain reaction out of people. Today there will be laughing, rejoicing, crying, screaming, fear and trembling all because of jokes. I have something for you that isn’t a joke but it is still intended to get a certain reaction out of you.
Jesus Christ died for our sins! He took our punishment and suffered for us. Beaten so much He should have died from it. Nailed to a cross and then put on display for the world to see. Mocked. Despised. Betrayed. And He did that for me and for you. Because He loves us.
He did it so we would have a way back to God the father….through the blood of His Son Jesus Christ! There is no joke in that……Jesus died for you! Because He loves you! And our reaction to this is the most important decision we will make. To either accept the free gift of salvation through His blood or to ignore His sacrifice and walk away. The decision must be made and the choice carries eternal implications. Because when life ends, there will be laughing/praising/rejoicing but there will also be crying/screaming/trembling. Your decision in this life determines your reaction in eternity. What will you choose? This isn’t a joke.
And the best part…He didn’t just die for us….He died for us, was resurrected for us and very soon He IS coming back for us! Praise His name!
